A 24 Hour Deep Rest Forest Retreat

One Night DEEP REST Retreat (3).jpg

Are there ever words to explain how grateful this heart feels? It grew ten sizes this weekend.

There's one thing I know to be true
and it is this
when women gather
magic happens

we started in circle
immediately, hearts were open
you could feel the connection
women, willing to be vulnerable

moving into nidra chats
resting in a state of bliss
and a dinner so clean
nourishing our hearts with food
made only with love
only love

Deep Rest Retreat Menu! Dinner – Chick pea cauliflower curry, basmati rice, homemade papa dons, light cucumber salad, garden style salad Breakfast – Vegetable and miso based broth, bok choy, garlic, onion, ginger, br (2).png

the fireplace so bright
the books and journals out
we slept under the stars
only little birds awake in the house

the sunrise yoga session
came pouring from my heart
and then a breakfast soup-olution
starting a revolution of love
of slowing down
of listening
of nourishing

we roamed into the forest
the cows they came to teach
and man, lessons did we learn

no longer can we hide
from the truth of ourselves
from how we react
finding space between action and reaction
burning karmic debt

back to nidra we came
it's like returning home
home to ourselves
that whom we often forget

and then a lunch of gold
more bowls than the eye could behold
clean, whole food for us to gobble
and in this
a new attention to the body
to the signs of hunger
the beauty and the love
energy and life force

some guided journalling came next
one of my favourite moments of our time
gathering like cats snoozing in a sun kissed room
sharing our hearts like peaceful warriors
brave soldiers
tending to our own souls

a powerful session of spiritual wisdom
coming from my own teacher
a full circle moment I'll never forget
and then playfulness to send us off
a children's nidra & laughter yoga
legs high up in the air
there's not one moment from this retreat
that I'll ever begin to forget

Replacing "God" with whatever word makes sense for you:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
